Check out some of the ways that Mirror SSL and Rack can be used to fit your Reason workflow.
The Transport - it’s always here
No matter which layout you use in Mirror the transport is always present. Pictured here is the “Big Transport” layout which is great on a phone. A draggable, hidable transport is present in every other layout of Mirror so you have immediate and easy access whether you are controlling the SSL or you are tweaking a device in the rack you can start, stop, record, etc. with the tap of your fingers right where you are as well as setting loops and seeing the timestamp and beats/measures in Real time.
SSL Multi-channel mode
Attach Mirror to the SSL in Reason to access 9 mixer channels plus the main output at a time. Channels can be shifted left and right either eight at a time or one at a time.
Channel labels, faders, solos and mutes are always onscreen and the panel above can be toggled between FX1-4, FX5-8, Compression/Gate/Gain, Parametric EQ or Filters panel. All parameters sync to Reason and all levels are shown with precise values in a floating display when touched (dB, Hz, or number)
SSL Single Channel Mode
Also available when Mirror is attached to the SSL, tap a button to change to Single channel mode and control all of the parameters of one channel from a single screen. The controls are much larger and easier to tune. This display is useful for a phone or a smaller screen or for more precision.
All channels are available by name in a pop out selector.
Reason Rack Mode Mode 1 - Follow Selected Sequencer track
When Mirror is not attached to any device it follows the current sequencer track.
If the devices is one of the built templates (ReDrum, Europa, Grain, Dr. Rex, Kong, Mimic, Subtractor, Combinator, The Echo, Pulveriser or M Class), all controls are mapped.
For all other devices the generic layout is displayed and controls can be mapped using Reason to map individual controls.
Rack Mode does not work when the SSL is attached to Mirror.
Reason Rack Mode 2 - User Defined Device
Any time that Mirror is not attached to the SSL “User Defined Device” mode can be selected from the Navigation and it will override the current device. Within User Defined mode there are many templates to choose from including multiple sets of faders and knobs plus an 8 channel mixer that can be mapped by hand to SSL channels so you don’t need to detach the SSL in order to both Mix and use the Rack mode as well as a playable Piano Roll, a MPC/Kong style set of drum pads and a layout for pattern select.
Each layout has an “a” and “b” bank and each control maps to a unique MIDI ID in Reason
